Starting in 2000, we broadened our scope at Point Design, Inc. to encompass general contracting services for custom residences, in addition to our residential custom design projects. Over the course of the next decade, we not only designed but also constructed custom homes, remodels, and additions. While we no longer offer construction services, our extensive understanding of the construction process remains ingrained in our approach, enriching our custom designs with both visual appeal and structural integrity.
Over the years, we have also had the opportunity to work on a variety of commercial projects, including office buildings, fire stations, churches, restaurants, and metal buildings. While we have diversified our portfolio, our passion and primary focus remain on designing high-quality residential projects that turn your family's dreams into reality.
About Matt...
Meet Matt Widmer, the owner of Point Design, Inc. His journey began at Texas A&M University, where he graduated in 1993 with an Environmental Design degree. Matt started his professional career at an Architectural Firm in Dallas, gaining valuable experience in diverse projects such as apartments, duplexes, and custom homes in Dallas and Colorado. Seeking new challenges, he moved to Austin and joined another Architectural Firm specializing in large custom homes, where he honed his craft with meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of architectural aesthetics. But Matt's journey didn't end there. He transitioned into the commercial construction and design industry, working for a nationwide firm. He traveled across the country, collaborating with architectural and engineering firms to successfully complete chain commercial projects. Matt's expertise extended beyond design, as he worked closely with city authorities to navigate permits and regulations.
Driven by a lifelong passion for residential design, Matt made a pivotal decision in 1997: to establish his own custom home design firm. Point Design, Inc. was born out of his desire to create unique, tailored spaces that harmonize with the clients' vision and the surrounding environment. With Matt at the helm, the company has flourished, earning a reputation for exceptional design, unwavering professionalism, and personalized service.
